Photographing jewellery for a new winter catalogue with a design agency and a jewellers.

Last year, whilst shooting the connected health care events at the DMC I bumped into an old friend called James. (He used to run the Arctic Monkeys website in the early days). He now runs a great design agency called Genius Division based in Barnsley. They had a project that Craig (Also a director of Genuis Division) was working on that was predominantly photography based.

Craig was working with A. Fattorini from Harrogate on the 2016 Christmas catalogue. They were looking for a new direction and asked Craig for some suggestions. We had a few meetings and came up with a few ideas for them and they went with a snow and ice look.

Planning the shoot took quite a few meetings, emails and test shoots and also making ice and snow too.

The shoot it’s self took place over a few days in their store due to the cost of some of the pieces. We had to set-up a whole studio in quite a small space and had 10 double page spreads to shoot and the front and back covers.

I’ve just received a copy of the catalogue and I’m really please with how it’s turned out, the print quality is great and the final look I think is great.

Working with Craig was great, plenty of direction and discussions on how to present each shot and some sketch plans of layouts too.

Here’s a few images of the original photographs we created, the “studio” and the final catalogue too.
