Since receiving the e-mail from Siobhan who works for Barnsley Council checking my availability to photograph some rubbish in front of the town hall, I’d been looking forward to it.

The challenge of making something so bad into some great images really got me excited. I love a shoot like this and the challenges it brings. Looking for good angles to make the photographs interesting and finding the right light for the people elements.

It’s a great PR project as well, highlighting the problem of fly tipping within Barsnley. It costs the council around £100K per year to collect and deal with the items fly tipped so raising awareness of the bogus business’ that collect your wast and then ditch it somewhere for someone else to deal with is a positive step forward.
