PR Photography for Barnsley council’s big civic Christmas lights switch on event
For the last 4 years, I’ve been asked by BMBC to provide PR photography for their Christmas lights switch on event. It’s always a fantastic event attended by huge crowds and there are great performers before the main event.
This year was no exception and Matt and the events team at BMBC had pulled out all the stops.
I always get there in good time before any of the crowds arrive for a reccy and to discuss with the events team where the best spot will be for the images they’re after that year. They always make sure I’m fenced in so no-one bumps my set-up as I always use a longish exposure to capture the fireworks.
The event started with a meet and greet with the main act, Paw Patrol and some of their fans, followed by some local talent and some X-Factor stars too.
I really enjoy shooting the event and the firework shots always look spectacular.
Cheers
Timm.
